Mysore palace in daytime(above) and night(below)-  old yet magnificent, lovely place to visit♡

マイソール宮殿、昼と夜- 古いけど壮大で素敵な場所でした♡

Honestly, I do not recommend you visit during the festival season. It was so unpleasantly crowded due to the festival, cars are hardly available or charge much higher than their usual rate, and you need to wait for long queues for every tourist spots. Also, being a foreign woman travelling to small city of India was not easy, though anticipated earlier- wherever you go, people ask you where you are from, to take selfies with them etc...

For the palace, they put tents and stages for the festival functions and a number of police is deployed, which spoil the visual beauty of the palace. However, inside of the palace was worthwhile to visit watch. I, as a learner of Indian classical dance, was fascinated by the halls, where once court dancers must have been presented. It made me dream to perform there!!

お祭りシーズンへのマイソール旅行は超混雑で、正直お勧めできません。車はなかなか予約できないし、予約できても普段の何倍もの値段になるし、各観光名所では長蛇の列に並ばなくてはなりませんでした。予想通りですが、出身地聞かれたり、セルフィー迫られたり、外国人女性の小さな街への一人旅も簡単ではありませんでした。

Chamumdi Hill- the worshipper of the temple flooded, which made me give up to go inside of the temple. The god statue below was outside of the temple. チャームンディーの丘。長蛇の列過ぎて、入場を断念。下は、その外にあった神像。

Nandi, the vehicle of lord Shiva, whom I found on my way back from the hill.

Another palace, Jaganmohan Palace, behind which was Jayachamarajendra Art Gallery, which was unique.

Almost entire walls of the palace were beautifully painted, among which I liked the scene of court dancers and the singers, of course!!

My driver mentioned this place used to be a dancers hall so couldn’t hold myself to get out of the car to pretend to be a court dancer.

この場所で、かつて宮廷舞踊の宴が開かれていたと運転手が教えてくれたので、車を降りて宮廷舞踊ごっこをせざるを得ませんでした。

The hotel I stayed used to be a palace- the government took over to run a hotel. It was very classic with the old-fashioned lift and lovely garden, and good place to take photos but the service and the facility were very Indian governmental!! Also, governmental VIP visits to the hotel are so frequent, which disturbs guests’ stay. If you plan to stay in Mysore, Radisson could be much better.

政府が改装した宮殿ホテルに滞在。非常にクラシックで、昔ながらのエレベーターや可愛いお庭があって撮影には持ってこいでしたが、サービスや設備はザ・インド政府。政府要人の往来も多く、他のゲストの滞在に影響していました。マイソール滞在は、ラディソンのほうが良いかも！

There are some travel options to the city from Delhi and I took an-hour propeller airplane flight from Bangalore by Air India. I am not really a fan of the governmental airline but I was so tired and I mistakenly booked the air tickets, not checking other options. IndiGo-Trujet looks better as, unsurprisingly, the AI flight from Bangalore to Mysore got delayed, and the flight meal was awful... well, I still enjoyed the travel overall and it was a good distraction from my monotonous life.

デリーからマイソールへのルートはいくつかありますが、IndiGo-Trujetの組み合わせが良さそう。私は疲れていた時に誤ってエアインディアを予約してしまったのですが、予想通りプロペラ機が遅延し、機内食は最悪でした。でも、全体的に良い旅で、つまらないデリー生活の気分転換になりました。
