My first Indian guru ji, Smt. Malti Shyam didi, has been on the online kathak class hosted by Sangeet Natak Akademi for the past couple of days. She is not only an extremely beautiful dancer but also a generously caring guru. It has been wonderful time for me to watch her classes after a long time and review the taaleem I have received over years: there was so much to rediscover. I felt the importance of guidance of a guru.
Today was the last day of the class and I was also touched by the speech by her. To sum up, she said: artists’ journey is never ending. There always come some new challenges. We often feel some things are missing or not enough for our lives. But, instead of complaining about the incompleteness, we have to reflect ourselves- how much we love what we do, to what extent we have made our efforts.
This online course made me miss seeing her, dancing kathak and travelling back to India. I pray to Krishna to help us out from this pandemic world...like he did for the people suffering from the flood in Vrindavan.
