My thoughts are with India and my loved ones...

Wherever you are in the world and whether you have vaccinated or not, please take great care of yourself and each other, and be kind.

Currently, India has been in dire situation, but the fact that any outbreak is caused by actions of each one of us is universally the same. While you may have thought the virus had been spreading somewhere far from you, it’s covered all over the world closer to you by the time you realised its infectiousness.

Some of my friends laughed at me in March 2020, when I got panicked and over-prepared after the PM Modi’s first announcement of India’s lockdown. Before completing the 3week-lockdown, I was repatriated from India by the official order, almost losing my job before finding another one and moving to a place where I’ve never been to, and where I have no family or friends to hang out with. For the past more than a half year, I have met my new colleague mostly on screens, talked on calls, and tried to learn unfamiliar rules and to get used to new work, place and culture.

Now even the number of cases has been decreasing, and after getting my first shot and the second one being scheduled, I still hold myself to socialise to find new friends(against my wish and curiosity to explore more!). It’s been so lonely and unstable mentally and physically. I have never been depressed or felt fear against uncertainty like this in my life.

Yet, I continue to do this, because I believe, if each one of us keeps precautions, someday things will get back to normal and I could go home safe to see my family and friends again. I want to enjoy theatres, dance performances and music concerts again. I want to dance on stage again. I want to travel to India and other places again.

Much sad news from India have been overwhelming in the past weeks. Many familiar people got infected and/or left this world, and a number of vaccinated doctors got infected. I hope people, if not from India, take it seriously and maybe a bit personally, and do their part, even things seem to get better with vaccination-we are never too careful and are yet to know how the virus evolves and speeds further...
